 In 1995 the year 1995, he was signed to Elektra Records and began recording his debut album "Everything You Need" in the year 1995. The album came out in March 1997 , and included the first single, "Let It go" that was featured on the Set It Off soundtrack. "Let It go" reached 25th in the U.S., and number 11 in New Zealand. The second single climbed to number 54 on the U.S. R&B charts. The singer was then removed by the label in 1997. He was in Dr. Dolittle's soundtrack for 1998 and sang "That's the reason I Lie". He was the producer of Mattel toy company, and he wrote the music for various commercials. He produced and performed the track as the lead single of Urban Renewal's tribute to R&B and Hip Hop. For his sophomore studio album, This Isn't A Game, Norwood worked with Rodney Jerkins, the Neptunes and Lil' Kim. Atlantic Records released the album on June 26th 2001. The album was produced over a period of 18 months. "Wait A minute" was the lead single, and reached #30 on the U.S. The Billboard Hot 100 chart topped at #30, and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at #8. "Formal Invitation" was #54 on the R&B charts.
