 Cameron Michelle Diaz was born August 30, 1972. Her fame is based on her roles in animated romantic comedies and other movies. Diaz has been awarded numerous awards and nominations, including four Golden Globe Awards, a British Academy Film Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Diaz was named the highest-paid Hollywood actress over the age of 40 in 2013.As of the year 2018, U.S. domestic box office gross of Diaz's films was more than $3 billion US and worldwide gross exceeding $7 billion, making Diaz the fifth-highest-grossing U.S. domestic box office actress. Diaz's early success made her a sex famous as well as one of the highest-paying actors in the world. Her birthplace was in San Diego, California. Diaz was raised in Long Beach. While still in high school she signed a model contract with Elite Model Management. At 21 years old she made her feature film debut alongside Jim Carrey in The Mask (1994). After a supporting role in My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) she starred in There's Something About Mary (1998). This brought her more attention as well as her first Golden Globe nomination. The two projects that followed that followed, the sports-themed drama Any Given Sunday (both 1999), and Spike Jonze's epic fantasy film Being John Malkovich (1998) gave Diaz an image as an actress who is dramatic.
