Adrienne Barbeau

Barbeau born in France, relocated to New York City in the mid-sixties and was a "for the mob" dancer. Barbeau made her Broadway debut as a part of the chorus Fiddler on The Roof. Later, she was cast as Tevye's daughter Hodel. Bette Midler played Tzeitel, her sister. In 1971, she resigned from Fiddler to be the lead role in the role of Cookie Kovac in Stag Movie, an off-Broadway musical for nude actors. Barbeau played the role of Cookie Kovac, as well as Brad Sullivan, as Rip Cord and Rip Cord were "quite jolly and deserve to be praised for their lack of embarrassment they show when they are stark naked. They may not be the most sexy but they certainly keep cheerful," wrote The New York Times theater critic Clive Barnes in an otherwise negative review. 12 Barbeau continued to appear in over 25 musicals and plays, including Women Behind Bars, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Grease. She received a Theater World Award and a 1972 Tony Award nomination for her performance as the tough-girl Rizzo in Grease.During the 1970s, Barbeau starred as Carol Traynor, the daughter of Bea Arthur, the title character in the comedy series Maude that was on from 1972 until 1978 (actress Marcia Rodd had originated the character of Carol in an episode from 1972 of All in the Family, also titled "Maude," alongside Arthur). [14] Barbeau has written in her autobiography"There Are Worse Things I Could Do , that she did not realize that while I was saying my lines, I was walking down steps all day long and no one was listening. They were watching my breasts in front of me. During the last season of Maude, Barbeau did not appear in all of the episodes. Barbeau declared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight TV interview that she and Arthur shared a wonderful chemistry. She said that they were close until Arthur's death on April 25, 2009. 15 years ago, Arthur and Barbeau were reunited on the 2007 episode of The View. They reminisced about their long-running friendship and co-star roles in Maude. In regards to her relationship with Arthur, Barbeau said in an interview in 2018 with Dread Central:"I was doing an interview for this one-woman show that I'm currently doing, and the host asked me "What is the most popular thing people do?
