Reba McEntire

 Reba Nell McEntire (born March 28 1955), or simply Reba,[1][2 is a famous American country music singer and actress. She is known as "the Queen of Country" and has sold over 75 million records across the globe. [4] Since the 1970s McEntire has had more than 100 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart 25, of which have were ranked at the top of the charts. McEntire is an actress in film and television. She was a part of the television series Reba which ran for six seasons. She also owns of several companies which include a clothing line. [7]One of four children, McEntire was born and raised in the state of Oklahoma. With the help of her mother, she and her siblings formed the Singing McEntires, which played at local events and recorded for an unnamed label. McEntire attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University to study to be a teacher in the public schools. McEntire also continued to perform and was heard performing at a rodeo by country singer Red Steagall. Drawn to her singing voice, Steagall helped McEntire secure an agreement to record country music with PolyGram/Mercury Records in the year 1975. she relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, with her mother the following year.Over the following years, PolyGram/Mercury released a series of McEntire's singles and albums, which amounted to little success. McEntire's music gained momentum in the 1980s, with several of her top 10 hits, including "(You Lift me) Up to Heaven", I'm Not that lonely yet" and her debut at number one hit single "Can't even Get the Blues". McEntire was unhappy with her professional life and was signed to MCA Records, 1984. Her second MCA album, titled My Kind of Country (1984) became her breakout release and produced two top Billboard country singles and pointed to an older style of music. Through the 1980s, she released seven studio albums and had ten more country singles that were number one. Her most popular singles included "One Promise Too Late", "The Last One to Know" and the Grammy Award-winning "Whoever's in New England".
