Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston, an American psychologist and writer (pen name: Charles Moulton),[2]and Harry G. Peter. Marston's wife Elizabeth and their partner in life Olive Byrne are acknowledged as the inspirations to Wonder Woman's appearance on American comics published by DC Comics. The Justice League was founded by the character. The character first appeared in All Star Comics #8 published on the 21st of October, 1941[9] with her debut appearance in Sensation Comics #1 in January 1942. The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously ever since. Her official title in her home country, Themyscira (an island nation) and is called The Princess Diana of Themyscira. DC changed her story in 2011 when they revealed that she was the biological daughter Zeus and Hippolyta. Her upbringing was with her mother and father, Antiope and Menalippe. Through the years, DC's portrayal of her character has changed. She briefly was unable to perform her duties in the 1960s. In the 80s, DC changed her background to show that she is the biological daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta. A set of indestructible bracelets as well as an tiara which can be used to create projectiles and, in older stories a variety of gadgets based on Amazon technology were added.
