Windy City Rehab is an American TV show which airs on HGTV. It is a starring role for Alison Victoria, an interior designer who does house renovations in Chicago, Illinois, with contractor Donovan Eckhardt (season one and the early part of season 2). In contrast to other HGTV programs, the projects are all city-based including townhouses and apartments. A lot of the houses have been in existence for more than 100 years and some are landmarks. This poses challenges to the design and construction. On January 1st, 2019, a first season with 11 episodes was broadcast. The second season was halted when the producer contracted coronavirus, and was broadcast in 2021. A third season began broadcasting in April 2022.n every episode, a candidate house is visited by Alison and Donovan, who discuss its potential to redesign or resell value (houses are purchased with no buyer with a buyer in mind). After purchasing the house and drafting an architectural plan and design plan, the two engage in demolition work. During this process, unexpected problems with construction often occur which add to the cost of construction and timeframe. The story shifts between scenes of construction and Alison's salvage and purchase of decorative and furniture components. This is fitting for the historical period of the house. The house is built after the construction is completed. Buyers interested in purchasing the house are invited to tour the exterior and interior.
