Tom Cruise

 Thomas Cruise Mapother IV (born July 3, 1962) is professionally known as Tom Cruise, is an American actor and producer. He is one of the most well-paid actors on the planet and has received numerous distinctions including an Honorary Palme d'Or, three Golden Globe Awards, as and nominations for three Academy Awards. His films have gross over 4 billion dollars in North America, and more than $11.1 billion globally. He is among the most successful actors in the world. Critical acclaim came with his roles in the dramatic films The Color of Money (1986), Rain Man (1988), and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his character Ron Kovic in the film. As a prominent Hollywood actor in the 90s, he was featured in several commercially successful films which included the drama A Few Good Men (1992), the thriller The Firm (1993), the horror film Interview with the Vampire (1994) and the romantic comedy Jerry Maguire (1996). He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and was nominated for his second Academy Award. Cruise's character as an actor and motivational speaker in Magnolia (1999) earned him another Golden Globe Award. He was also nominated for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actor.
