Sosie Bacon

Kevin Bacon, a director of Loverboy decided to feature his daughter Sosie in Loverboy. Kevin answered questions about his decision. He explained that he made the decision as a filmmaker and not as a father because it was his daughter who he believed was the right choice for the role. She did get it out of her system. She replied, "Oh, that was great--now I'm going to school." Sosie portrayed the main character Emily in a flashback, and the mature Emily was played by Sosie's mother Kyra Sedgwick. Sosie sang an acappella rendition of "Life on Mars" by David Bowie as Emily. The New York Times reviewed the film as "grotesquely funny". The brother of Sosie, Travis Bacon, was assigned a minor part in the film. Kevin was kind enough to praise Sosie's performance on Loverboy however, he said he wouldn't encourage her to continue acting. According to Sedgwick who plays as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, Duff wanted her to be part of the show from when she was 12 years old. But Sedgwick was opposed to the idea, insisting that Sosie's being kept out of acting. Duff claims that he managed to convince Sosie's parents to let her take on a small part in the show, as long as it didn't interfere with her studies. Duff described the agreement more as an "treaty discussion" than an arrangement.
