Sophie's studio album Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides was released in the year 2018. It was a nomination for the Grammy Award as Best Dance/Electronic album. Sophie died on January 20, 2021, after falling from a three-storey Athens building. The Fader has praised Sophie as an "pioneering Scottish artist whose vibrant electronic works expanded pop music's scope,"while Pitchfork credited Sophie's influential work "mold[ing] electronic music into a bracingly unique avant-garde music"
