 Salma Hayek Pinault Spanish: born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimenez on] September 2, 1990 is a Mexican-American actress and film producer. Her professional career began in Mexico, where she starred in the television series Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood with appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (1999).Hayek's performance as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also directed and directed, was her first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6in addition to earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. In subsequent years, Hayek focused more on producing while starring in the action-oriented films Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003), After the Sunset (2004) and Bandidas (2006). Hayek also enjoyed commercial success with her comedy films Grown Ups (2010), Grown Ups 2 (2013) and The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) as well as voicing the animated Puss in Boots (2011), The Pirates! (2012) and Sausage Party (2016).
