Nikola Jokic (Serbian Cyrillic: Nikola Jokitsh, pronounced [nikola Jokitc(listen) (listen) born on February 19, 1995) is an Serbian professional basketball player who is a center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Four-time NBA All-Star, he has been named to the All-NBA Team on four occasions (including three selections to the first team), and won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2021-22 and 2020-21 seasons. He plays for Serbian national team Serbian national teamNicknamed "the Joker" Jokic was chosen by the Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft. In the year 2016, he was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2016. When he led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Semifinals he earned his first All-Star selection as well as NBA All-NBA First Team selection. He was given All-Star and All-NBA honours in the following season as he led his team to the Western Conference Finals. Jokic is one of the most coveted 10 NBA players who have the highest number of triple doubles (regular and playoffs) and his team was the most successful European center and player. He has the world record for the most efficient triple-double. It was attained in only 14 minutes and 33 seconds. He was also awarded a silver medal at this year's Summer Olympics.
