Mixed martial arts

Mixed martial arts (MMA), also known as cage fighting (NHB) or ultimate fighting (VF) as well as Vale Tudo, is a full-contact combative sport that incorporates grappling, striking and ground fighting. The origin of the term is still being debated. In the early 20th century, numerous interstylistic competitions were held throughout Japan and in the countries that were part of the Four Asian Tigers. Vale Tudo was a Brazilian sport. The Gracie family promoted it as a means to promote their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style. The 1976 Ali fight. Inoki Exhibition bout was an early precursor to the modern MMA. The fight featured boxer Muhammad Ali against Antonio Inoki and ended in a draw at 15 rounds. The fight was the inspiration for Pancrase and Pride Fighting Championships. In 1993 it was the year of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a promotion company, and culminated in the creation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The UFC held an event with almost no rules in part due to the influence of Art Davie and Rorion Gracie trying to recreate Vale Tudo fights that existed in Braziland eventually adopt an entirely different set of rules (example that bans kicks against a grounded opponent) This was in contrast to other leagues that were more inclined to real-life, street-style fights
