Lord Byron

George Gordon Byron (6th Baron Byron FRS) (22 January 1788 - 19 April 1824), also called Lord Byron was an English romantic poet and peer. His most famous works include the long narratives Don Juan, Childe Harold's Pilgrimage as well as numerous of his lyrics that were composed in Hebrew Melodies. He was educated at Trinity College in Cambridge and then traveled extensively across Europe and even to Italy where he spent seven years in Venice, Ravenna and Pisa. He visited Percy Bysshe Shelley, his colleague and friend in poetry, while he was in Italy. Later on during his lifetime, Byron joined the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. He passed away from a fever after the First and Second Sieges of Missolonghi.
