Jimmy Page

James Patrick Page OBE, born 9 January 1944, is an English musician from England. Page was the founder and lead guitarist of Led Zeppelin. Page is prolific in creating guitar riffs. His style is comprised of various alternate tunings of the guitar, as well as melodic solos, coupled with loud, distorted guitar tones. It is also characterized by his folk and eastern-influenced Acoustic work. He is renowned for his use of a cello bow on his guitar, which creates a droning sound in his songs. From 1966 to 1968, the guitarist was an official Yardbirds member. He founded Led Zeppelin in 1968, following the Yardbirds disbanded. The band was active from 1968 until 1980. Following the death of John Bonham, Page was a part of several musical groups throughout the 1990s and 1980s. This included XYZ and the Firm and also the Honeydrippers and the Coverdale-Page. Page also participated in Page and Plant. From 2000 onwards, Page has participated in numerous guest performances with a variety of musicians on stage and in studio recordings. He was also a participant in a single Led Zeppelin reunion in 2007 that was released as the 2012 concert film Celebration Day. He also was a part of the documentary It Might Get Loud (2008), which featured Jack White and the Edge.
