Star has previously stated that he witnessed Vanity's actions in 2012. Other tweets depict Star telling the public to "get over the negativity" against Vanity and also promoting a Blood on the Dance Floor album. He was accused of being a part of Vanity despite knowing about the allegations of sexual assault, and profiting from the group's ongoing popularity.
