Hari Nef (born October 21, 1992) is an American actress, model, and writer. [3] Nef was the first actress to play Gittel in the Amazon original show Transparent. The actress was nominated in 2016 for an SAG Award. [4] She was the first model to walk on the runway at New York Fashion Week Spring 2015, showcasing both Hood By Air and Eckhaus Latta, and subsequently became the first openly transgender woman signed to IMG Models. The cover she wore on an British magazine marked her debut time as an openly transgender female. Nef has written on many different topics, including fine art and film to gender, sex and transgender identities. [7] She resides and works in New York City.
