New York-born Hawaiian siblings Pili (E) and Ioane ("E") temporarily moved from New York to Oahu to assist their father Kimo who's health and financial problems are getting worse. Pili is a huge geocaching fan is relieved when she discovers that Kimo has been hidden release of an old diary from her grandfather’s art studio. In the meantime, E is distracted from his own quest to find a better Internet connectivity by the requisite pretty local girl, Hana who has huge desires of her own. The siblings find themselves learning about their Hawaiian roots as Pili goes on a Goonies-style search for pirate treasures that have been lost. Pili is supported by Casper the local kid who's resourceful and nerdy, as well as E and Hana.
