Denki Groove was established in 1989 by TakkyuIshino and Pierre Taki and is a Shizuoka Prefecture native. The band's debut album, Flash Papa was released in 1991 by a major label. They also released several albums, including U.F.O. (1991), Karateka (1992), Vitamin (93), Dragon (1994), Orange (1996), A (1997), Voxxx ((2000)). Their hit single "Shangri-La" has sold more than half million copies. Between 2001 and 2004, the group went off the air. In the year 2019, Pierre Taki was charged with possession of cocaine. Sony Music Entertainment Japan removed Denki Groove's recordings from the shelves and the band stopped streaming their music. The streaming service was restored on June 19,2020.
