Catherine Bell (actress)

Bell was a part of Men of War, a 1994 Dolph Lundgren movie. Bell as well as Trevor Goddard became close friends during filming in Thailand. Goddard would play Bell's off-and-on love interest Mic Brumby in the next year on JAG. The two remained close until Goddard's death of a fatal drug overdose in June 2003. It was an event that the bereaved Bell described as "horrible". She was offered a three-line part in an episode of the NBC series JAG. The show focuses on the work of the United States Department of the Navy's Judge advocate General office. After NBC cancelled the show, CBS picked it up and restructured it with Sarah MacKenzie, a Marine Corps lawyer. Bell applied for the role and was selected. The pilot episode featured Bell speaking Persian. She continued in this role until the show ended 2005. Bell began her acting career on the ensemble drama series of Lifetime Army Wives in 2007. She was Denise Sherwood (the wife of a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel) who is subject to domestic violence by her son, her teenage son, during the pilot season. Bell was Cassandra Nightingale (the main character in Hallmark's The Good Witch (2008) and its sequels The Good Witch's Gift (2010) and The Good Witch's Family (2011). Bell was also the co-executive producer of all the films. She also starred in the Lifetime movie titled Last Man Standing (2011).
