Tyrrell was born in Detroit in Michigan. He began tattooing at the age of thirty. Tyrrell is popular for tattooing Kid Rock's back and has also been featured in LA Ink, London Ink. He was part of the jury of the first Chaudesaigues Award in 2012, which honors the profession and work of tattoo artists. Tyrrell also took part in the 2012 World Wide Tattoo Conference.
