 He was born in Carson. Prior to beginning his career in rap, Hykeem spent his early life (as early as 4 years old) in music studios watching his Aunts & Uncles "burn" CDs with the famed platform LimeWire, which was the most popular platform for music streaming on the internet at the time of the 2000's. Hykeem shared the memories of listening to Kanye West's "808s and Heartbreak" as he was in Las Vegas in the Winter 2008. It sparked his passion in music further, which prompted him to conduct research on music in the next year. Keem was influenced by artists such as Ye, Kid Cudi and Lil Wayne. He also was involved in the Minecraft Survival Games scene in the early 2010's. Keem's Minecraft account was under the in game name "hykeemc" and his YouTube channel was under the alias "AllMightyModz". Keem was an experienced player on The Hive servers and MCGamer Network servers. He amassed over 1,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel because of his skills. Keem was known to make Skype calls to ensure that his fans could connect with them. The channel has since become not active, however, the channels' links will take users to Keem's SoundCloud account.It was only in 2014 that Hykeem began to pursue his own musical career
