 Angelina Jolie[4 DCMG (/dZoU'li /dZoU'li/; born Angelina Jolie Voight;[5] June 4 1975) is an American actor, director and humanitarian. She was also the former Special Envoy to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. She has been the recipient of numerous accolades which include the Academy Award and three Golden Globe Awards and three Golden Globe Awards, she was named the highest-paid Hollywood actress several times.Jolie made her debut on screen as a child alongside her father, Jon Voight, in Looking to Get Out (1982), and her film career began in the midst of her career when she starred in the low-budget film Cyborg 2 (1993), followed by her first leading part in a major feature, Hackers (1995). She was a star in the biographical cable films George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998). In 1999, she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her part as the video game character in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) established her as a prominent Hollywood actress. She continued her action-star career with Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Wanted (2008), Salt (2010) as well as The Tourist (2010), and was praised by critics for her performance in the dramas A Mighty Heart (2007) and Changeling (2008) and Changeling (2008). The latter earned her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Maleficent (2014) was her most commercially successful film. Her voice roles include in the animation film series Kung Fu Panda since 2008. Jolie has directed and written numerous war-themed dramas, including Unbroken (2014) and In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011). In 2021, Jolie portrayed Thena in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Eternals.
