Alex Trebek

 Trebek was born on July 22, 1940, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the son of George Edward Trebek (born Terebeychuk), a chef who had emigrated from Ukraine as a child, and Lucille Marie Lagace (April 14, 1921 - 2016), a Franco-Ontarian.Trebek had roots in Renfrew County, Ontario, where his maternal grandmother was born in Mount St. Patrick near Renfrew. Trebek grew up bilingually in French and English. Trebek nearly got exiled from the boarding school where he was sent by his parents. He enrolled in a military school shortly after, but he dropped out when asked to do his hair. Trebek's first job at age 13 was as bellhop in the hotel where his father was employed as chef. Trebek was 13 years old when he began his career as a bellhop for the hotel in which his father was employed as a chef. At the time the time, he was considering an upcoming broadcasting career.
