At the age of 16, Alba Baptista started her career as the main character in Simao Cayatte's short film Miami. The film won her the Festival Iberico de Cine Best Actress Award for her performance. Her career was further developed by appearing in Portuguese series A Criacao and the telenovelas A Impostora and Jogo Duplo. Alba's cinema career was strong in Portugal during the following years. She also appeared in three of the most well-known Portuguese series. Caminhos Magnetykos, in which Alba was "Catarina", and Equinocio (directed by Ivo Ferreira) are two examples of her work in film. In 2019, she starred in the film Patrick, the first directorial effort of Goncalo Waddington. The film was a part of the San Sebastian International Film Festival which was where it debuted. She was in the 2020 feature film Fatima with Harvey Keitel, Sonia Braga, and Joana Ribeiro, which was directed by Marco Pontecorvo.Her first role in English was as the lead character Ava in Netflix's series Warrior Nun, which was launched on July 2, 2020.She reprised her role in the second season of the show, that was released on the 10th of November, 202.
