Born in Chicago, Camacho got her first experience with acting when she took an acting class on the suggestion of a friend. She was immediately in love with the art and relocated to San Francisco, where she employed as a waitress , while also taking night classes at the well-known American Conservatory Theater. She then went on to work as a television and theater technician in Chicago, where she was able to obtain her Screen Actors Guild membership card prior to settling in full-time Los Angeles.
