Jami Gertz

 She was discovered in an audition for talent across the country through Norman Lear and studied drama at NYU. Gertz, along with Andrew Dice Clay, was a child actor on an episode of Diff'rent Strokes. Gertz was also in a regular role as Blair's friendand classmate Boots St. Clair on The Facts of Life. Gertz's first film appearance was in 1981's Endless Love, a romance film about a young woman who fell in love. She then starred in the co-starring role of the popular TV show Square Pegs from 1982 to 1983. Gertz gained greater attention when she starred as the friend and drug addict in the 1987 film Less than Zero. Gertz was also in the sitcom of the same name in 1982, Square Pegs, as Star. Gertz returned to America in 1996 and played an important role as a supporting character in Twister. Gertz had previously appeared in a variety of films, including 1986's Solarbabies, Crossroads, 1989's Listen to Me with Kirk Cameron and The Boyfriend School. In the episode from 1994 of Seinfeld, "The Stall" she was one of Jerry's girlfriends who works as a phone sexual operator, and who is unable to "spare a square" of toilet paper for Elaine in the bathroom. In 1994, she also appeared as Sarah in the TV film This Can't Be Love starring Katharine Shepburn, Anthony Quinn and Jason Bateman. Gertz became the recurring role of Dr. Nina Pomerantz in the 1997 season. She reportedly was offered, but declined the part as Rachel Green, during pre-production of Friends.In 2000, Gertz took up a regular role on the Fox popular show Ally McBeal as Kimmy Bishop John Cage's love-interest. Gertz received nominations for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest actor in an Comedy Series. In 2002, she reprised the role of guest actor on one episode of the final season. In 2002, she appeared as comedian Gilda Radner on the TV movie Gilda Radner's Always Something. [5] Gertz's character on Still Standing, Judy Miller is named after a character Radner portrayed on Saturday Night Live. Still Standing, which Gertz co-starred alongside Mark Addy, was her longest-running show on television and most popular. It ran from 2002 until 2006.
