Eminem

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, born on the 17th of October, 1972 is an American musician and record producer. He is credited with popularizing hip-hop in middle America and is widely regarded as one of the top rappers of all time. The worldwide success of Eminem and highly acclaimed music are considered to have broken down barriers of race to the acceptance of rappers from the white community in popular music. Even though his actions in the late 1990s and early2000s were controversial, he became a symbol of American angst and was cited as a source of inspiration for numerous musicians. In 1999, Eminem signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. The Slim Shady LP gained mainstream success. The Marshall Mathers LP (2000), as well as The Eminem Show (2002) were his two subsequent albums that were massive success worldwide and were nominated for the Grammy Award for Album Of The Year. Eminem was forced to stop performing in 2005 after the release of Encore (2004). This was largely due his dependence on prescription drugs. 3 He returned to the music industry four years later , with the release of Relapse (2009) and Recovery came out the following year. Eminem's 2010 album Recovery was the album that sold the most worldwide. It was the second most-seller album, following 2002's The Eminem Show. In the years following Eminem released the US number one albums The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013), Revival (2017), Kamikaze (2018) and Music to Be Murdered By (2020).Eminem made his debut in the film industry by starring in the musical drama 8 Mile (2002), playing a fictionalized version of himself. His song "Lose Yourself" from its soundtrack earned him the Academy Award for Best Original Song which made him the first hip hop artist to win this award. Eminem was a guest in the films The Wash (2001), Funny People (2008), and The Interview (2014). The actor also appeared on the show Entourage (2010). He also has developed several other ventures, including Shady Records, a joint partnership with manager Paul Rosenberg, which helped to launch the careers of musicians like 50 Cent, D12 and Obie Trice as well as others. Eminem also has his own channel, Shade 45 on Sirius XM Radio. In addition, he was part of the hip-hop collective D12. He is also known for collaborations with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5'9"; the two are collectively known as Bad Meets Evil.Eminem is among the best-selling music artists ever, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million albums. He was the top-selling music artist in the United States of the 2000s and the highest-selling male artist in the United States of the 2010s, third overall. He was named the "Artists of the Decade" by Billboard (2000-2009). He had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200 -- which all debuted consecutively at number one on the chart and he was the first artist to achieve this[5]--and five number-one singles in the Billboard Hot 100. "6" The Marshall Mathers album, The Eminem Show, Curtain Call: The Hits (2005), "Lose Yourself", "Love the Way You Lie" as well as "Not Afraid" are all certified Diamond or better by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Rolling Stone included him on the list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He has been awarded numerous times which include fifteen Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards, an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award and an MTV Europe Music Global Icon Award. Eminem was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the month of November 2022.
