American actor Amy Lou Adams was born on August 20 1974. She is well-known for her dramatic and comedic roles. She has been featured three times in the annual rankings of the top-paid actresses across the globe. Her achievements include two Golden Globe Awards and nominations for six Academy Awards and seven British Academy Film Awards. She made her film debut with Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) in which she played in a support part. Also, she made guest appearances on television and played "mean girls" roles in feature films that had low budgets. Her first appearance was in Steven Spielberg's biopic Catch Me If You Could (2002). However, she was unemployed for a period of one year. She came to prominence with the film Junebug (2005) as the loquacious pregnant woman. Adams was also nominated for an Academy Award. Enchanted (2007), which featured the happy princess-to-be, was her first big role. The actress followed that by playing other young optimistic female characters in films like the action film Doubt (2008) and subsequently played more assertive parts to positive reviews in the sports film The Fighter (2010) and the psychological thriller The Master (2012). She played Lois Lane from 2013 to the year 2017. Two consecutive Golden Globe Awards were won for her portrayal of con artist and painter in American Hustle (2013), and Big Eyes (2014). The film also received praise for her roles as a linguist and self-harming reporter in Arrival (2016) and Vice (2018). In 2014 she was named among the top 100 most influential people in the world by Time and included in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list.
