Tanya Roberts

 Tanya Roberts was born Victoria Leigh Blum, although the birth date has been listed the year as 1955. She was either born in Manhattan[4] or in the Bronx or the Bronx in New York City to Oscar Blum (nee Smith) in 1949. [5] Oscar Maximilian Blum was born in New York City. The father of Oscar, Theodor Blum,[8] was dubbed "The most remarkable dentist in America" for his groundbreaking work in the field of local anesthesia as well as his use of x-rays in the field of dental care. 9. Theodor was born in Vienna, Austria and emigrated to New York in 1904. 6. Oscar earned an undergraduate degree in 1934 at Cornell University and was a first-year medical student at the college. 10] In 1940, Tanya's father was working as an assistant manager at a music publishing company located in New York City. [11] In 1945, he got married to Dorothy Leigh Smith, an Oldham, England native, in Weymouth. In the age of 22, Dorothy was at New York City in April 1945. 14 Dorothy was Tanya's 2 year-old sister Barbara, returned to New York in 1948 after the trip to England. Tanya's father was of Jewish origin and her mother was of English or Irish descent. Her father is of Irish descent, while her mother is Jewish. [18] Her older sister was Barbara. [19] According to the 1950 U.S. Census, the Blum family along with their two daughters lived in Hewlett, NY in April 1950. The census also indicates that Oscar Blum was a sales executive for a pen maker. 2] In 1956, Tanya and her sister lived in Scarsdale, New York in a home built in 1950 and still standing 70 years after. [20][21] Tanya was born in Scarsdale, NY in March 1951. Her parents purchased the Scarsdale home new and then the house was sold in January of 1958. They also purchased a property in Greenburgh during the month of January. [22The 22 Tanya was able to sell the Greenburgh property to her father in July 1961. Oscar Blum, a New York fountain pen salesman, supported the family with a modest salary. The Blum sisters were raised in the middle of Bronx.
