Shirley MacLaine

 Shirley MacLaine, born Shirley MacLean Beaty on 24 April 1934 1935 ([11), is an American actor and writer. MacLaine is famous for her portrayals of eccentric, strong-willed, and even eccentric female characters. She has been awarded many awards throughout her seven-decade career. MacLaine is among the last Hollywood stars. Her birthplace was in Richmond, Virginia. Her acting debut came as an teen in small parts in the Broadway musical Oklahoma. The Pajama Game and Oklahoma! After a few minor roles as substudies in other films, MacLaine made her film debut in Alfred Hitchcock's black comedy The Trouble with Harry (1955). MacLaine won the Golden Globe Award, New Star of the Year as an Actress. MacLaine became famous for her leading roles in Around the World in 80 Days (1956) and Some came Running(58) and Ask Any Girl(59) The Apartment (1960), The Children's Hour (61), Irma La Douce (1963), Sweet Charity (1969) and Being There (1979). MacLaine was an eight-time Academy Award nominee. She was awarded the Academy Award as Best Actress for her role in the James L. Brooks comedy drama Terms of Endearment (1983). MacLaine received many honorary awards. In 2012, she was honored with the AFI Life Achievement Award, Gala Tribute from Film Society of Lincoln Center 1995 and Kennedy Center Honor 2013 for her contribution to American culture through the performing arts. MacLaine was awarded the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1998. MacLaine is also an actor. She has written numerous books on metaphysics, spirituality , and the idea of reincarnation.
