O. J. Simpson

 Orenthal James Simpson, born on July 9, 1947 was an American actor, broadcaster, and former football running back who played for the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. Simpson was once a well-known figure in the United States but is now remembered for his trial for the murders of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson was not found guilty of the murders in the criminal justice system, however, he the jury later found him guilty in a civil case. He was also acquitted of his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson's murder. Simpson was also an USC Trojans football player and was given the Heisman Trophy in 1968. From 1969 to 1977 Simpson was a professional running back for the National Football League (NFL). He also played with the San Francisco 49ers from 1978 to 1979. In 1973 he became the first NFL player to rush more than 2,000 yards during one season. He has the record with 143.1 yards per game for one season. Simpson was the sole player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in the 14-game regular NFL season. Simpson was inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After his retirement from the sport, he began new career paths in the fields of acting and football broadcasting.
