Martha MacCallum

 MacCallum joined Fox News Channel in 2004. From 2006 to 2010 MacCallum hosted The Live Desk and America's Newsroom and America's Newsroom, respectively. MacCallum hosted the new program, The First 100 Days, on Fox News Channel, which was launched on January 9, 2017. It was created as an alternative to Tucker Carlson Tonight when that show moved to the slot that was previously used by The Kelly File after Megyn Kelly's resignation. The show premiered on April 28th 2017 The show was rebranded to The Story with Martha MacCallum. [6] Newsmax grew rapidly at the end of 2020 while Fox and MacCallum plunged in ratings. She was demoted on January 11, the day her program "The Story" was moved from the 7 p.m. ET time-slot and moved to the 3 p.m. ET time-slot.MacCallum as well as Bret Baier moderate the town hall along with the President Donald Trump in 202After a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, MacCallum initially said, "This is a huge victory for these protesters. They've disrupted the system in a huge way!"[8][9] Later on during the coverage of the event, she called them "unsettling" and added that "control is required to be maintained. "[9] She likened the storming of the U.S. Capitol to a peaceful protest outside Josh Hawley's residence the day before; The New York Times said it was "bizarre" to link "swarms of Trump supporters breaking into the heart of democracy, which made global news, to a small-scale incident at the residence of the home of a Republican official. "MacCallum is a two-time recipient of the Gracie Award for women in journalism[11and has also received the Soldiersocks Commitment to Serve award. There have been some who have been critical of her using the term 'China Virus' for COVID-19.
