Lawson started her professional career at the age of 8 in community and dinner productions of theater. Lawson began her career at age 8 in local dinner theater and community productions. Then she was a host for youth television for WDRB Fox 41 Kid's Club, Louisville. At 15 she moved to Los Angeles to begin her pilot. Lawson also appeared as a guest on TV shows like Smallville and Fear Itself, and co-starred in It's All Relative and Crumbs.For The Wonderful World of Disney, Lawson starred in two roles in Model Behavior featuring Justin Timberlake and also in the 2002 installment of Nancy Drew in the title role. Other credits in films include Pleasantville, Nice Guys Sleep Alone and Cleaner.
