 Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanyotta (listen), STEF JUR'-NOT-@, born March 28, 1986 is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her versatility in her music and her image-reinventions are what makes her distinct. Gaga began her career in her teens, singing at open mic nights and acting in school plays. Gaga was a student at Collaborative Arts Project 21 at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts before she decided to pursue a career in music. She was fired by Def Jam Recordings and began writing songs for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. In 2007 she signed a joint arrangement with Interscope Records, KonLive Distribution and Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Gaga got her first major break in 2007 with The Fame, her debut studio album. It also featured the chart-topping songs "Just Dance", "Telephone", and "Poker Face". The album was later updated to include the performance The Fame Monster (2009) and produced the acclaimed singles "Bad Romance", "Telephone", and "Alejandro".Gaga's five succeeding studio albums all debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200. Her sophomore album, Born This Way (2011) was a study of electronic rock and techno-pop and sold over 1 million copies within its first week. The album's title track was the most-seller on the iTunes Store with more than one million downloads in just one week. Gaga's third album, which was influenced by EDM, Artpop (2013) as well as the album's lead track "Applause" were followed by the jazz album Cheek To Cheek (2014) which she produced alongside Tony Bennett, as well as the soft rock album Joanne (2016). Gaga branched out into acting and received awards for her performance in the mini-series American Horror Story Hotel (2015-2016), as well as the musical A Star Is Born (2018). The first female to be awarded an Academy Award and BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, Golden Globe Award, Grammy Award or both in the same year for her contribution to the music. Gaga made a return to dance-pop in her sixth studio album, Chromatica (2020) that yielded the number-one single "Rain on Me". It was followed by Love for Sale (her second album together with Bennett) as well as she was cast as the lead in House of Gucci in 2021.
