Kimila Ann Basinger [1] is an American actress from the United States. She was born on December 8th in 1953. Basinger has been recognized for her film and television work, securing numerous awards which include the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. Basinger was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles in 1976, when she began acting on television. Basinger was a part of several television-produced films which included the remake of From Here To Eternity (1979) prior to her debut as a feature film in Hard Country (1981). Basinger was a sexual icon in the 1990s and 1980s. She is most well-known for her performance in the film Bond girl Domino Petachi (1983). Basinger was awarded an Golden Globe nomination in 1984 for her performance in The Natural. She also was in 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) and Vicki Vale (1989) and remains the highest-grossing film in her professional career. The role she played was L.A.'s female fatale. Basinger was given the Academy Award for Best Supporting Artistess for Confidential (1997). Basinger was also in No Mercy (1986), Blind Date (1987), My Stepmother Is An Alien (1988) and The Cool World(1992), The Real McCoy (1993) and I dreamed of Africa(2000), 8 Mile (2002) and Cellular (2004). Basinger is currently engaged to Mitch Stone, her long-time hairdresser. After her wedding to Alec Basinger, she had an active relationship with Prince who recorded an album titled Hollywood Affair.
