Jo Koy

 Jo Koy is grateful to his mother for her support in his comedy and acting skills. When he performs comedy, he often tells stories about his mother. He was encouraged by his mother to participate in talent shows at school, and also to perform impromptu shows for friends and family. He started performing in an Las Vegas coffee shop and was inspired to relocate to Los Angeles. The club quickly shifted from an open mic spot to a regular slot at Catch a Rising Star, the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. After performing at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, it was rented out the Huntridge Theater and went door to door to sell tickets for his comedy shows.A talent coordinator from Los Angeles spotted Koy and landed him his first television appearance on BET's ComicView. He was a participant in two seasons of Comic View. The comedian has also been featured in stand-up specials, such as Jamie Foxx Presents Laffapalooza! Jo Koy has won the Showtime at the Apollo, performing in front of troops in the USO Tour, can be seen on numerous VH1 I Love the 70's and 80's, 90's and Tru TV's World's Dumbest and New Millennium episodes, as well as Amp'd Mobile commercials, and received another invitation to the Montreal comedy festival Just For Laughs, the series that earned him the given Canada's highly coveted Gemini Award. Jo Koy was also a frequent participant on the Chelsea Handler roundtable discussion. the show Chelsea Lately. Jo Koy has also appeared on Carlos Mencia's Punisher Tour, performing stand-up comedy to fans filling 10,000-seat arenas across the nation.
