His acting debut came in the role of Jason Ioane in the syndicated action drama Baywatch: Hawaii (1999–2001). He later played Khal Drogo in the Syfy fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011) and Declan Harp (2016-2018) on Discovery Channel. Momoa was featured as the main character in the two last series.Since the year 2016, Momoa plays Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), first appearing in a cameo in the movie Batman Superman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) followed by Justice League (2017) and the director's cut for 2021 which starred in the film's eponymous 2018 release and its 2023 sequel as well as appearing in the TV series Peacemaker (2022-present).
