Thomas Jacob Black (born August 28th 29th, 1969) is an American comedian, actor, and musician. He is known for his roles in the acting genre in the movies High Fidelity (2000), Shallow Hal (2001), Orange County (2002), School of Rock (2003), Envy (2004), The Holiday (2006), Gulliver's Travels (2010), Bernie (2011), The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) as well as the Jumanji franchise. in addition, as of August 2022, his music video for "Tribute"--as one half of the comedy rock duo that won Grammy Awards Tenacious D--has accumulated more than 112 million views on YouTube by itself. Black is also well-known for his role as a voice actor as Po the gigantic panda in DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda films. Black was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in School of Rock and Bernie and received an award on Hollywood's Walk of Fame 2018 as the Tenacious D's lead singer. He formed the group along with Kyle Gass in 1994. They've released four studio albums in the same time frame--their self-titled debut album Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny, Rize of the Fenix and Post-Apocalypto in addition to appearing in the television series Tenacious D (1997-2000) as well as the film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006). Since the year 2018, Black has been a part of an online channel on YouTube titled Jablinski Games.
