McGrady began her modeling career at 15 as straight-sized model. When she was 19, she made the decision to begin modeling plus size since she was unable to maintain the 00 standard established by her agency. McGrady was born in Los Angeles to American actor Michael McGrady, and model Brynja McGrady. She has a younger sister, a model named Michaela McGrady.
