Henry Winkler

 Henry Franklin Winkler, OBE (born on October 30 1945), is an American actor comedian, author as well as executive producer and director. After rising to fame as Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on the American television show Happy Days, Winkler has distinguished himself as a character actor for roles like Arthur Himbry in Scream, Coach Klein in The Waterboy, Barry Zuckerkorn in Arrested Development, Eddie R. Lawson in Royal Pains, Fritz in Monsters at Work, Stanley Yelnats III in Holes, Uncle Joe in The French Dispatch, Judge Newman in Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, Al Pratt in Black Adam, and Gene Cousineau in Barry. Winkler was a struggling kid in P.S. 87 West 78th Street in Manhattan, and at the McBurney School where he was ridiculed for his inept academic performance. After graduating from Emerson College, he studied theater at the Yale School of Drama. He also spent a time with the Yale Repertory Theater, where was involved in commercial theater and also appeared in two independent films. He saved enough money to travel to California in September 1973. He was then selected for a small part on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. He was also a part of the audition for Happy Days and won the role of Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli, which he portrayed for the following ten years. Winkler was diagnosed with dyslexia while working on Happy Days. Winkler then moved to producing and directing. He helped develop the original MacGyver television show and was also a producer on shows like Sightings as well as The Hollywood Squares. He also served as director of Memories of Me, a theatrical release starring Billy Crystal and Cop and a Half (with Burt Reynolds). The director drew upon his experiences with dyslexia as a child to co-write Hank Zipzer, a series of books for children that co-authored with Lin Oliver. Winkler was also the Mr. Rock in the BBC version of the series. Oliver and Winkler created the prequel series Here's Hank and the Ghost Buddy series. They also co-created the Alien Superstar series. He was a reality-TV actor in the year 2016 on the NBC series Better Late Than Never Winkler received an award for his performance in the show "The Fonz" and his involvement in dyslexia with Hank Zipzer. The actor donated one of Fonzie’s leather jackets to the National Museum of American History in 1980. He was honored with an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1981. In 2008 the Bronze Fonz statue was unveiled at the Milwaukee Riverwalk. In 2011, he was appointed an Honorary Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Elizabeth II, and was listed as one of the United Kingdom's Top 10 Literacy Heroes in 2013.
