Haley Bennett

 Angela Evelyn Bassett (born August 16th 1958) is an American actress. Many awards have been presented to Bassett, including three Black Reel Awards and a Golden Globe Award. She also received seven NAACP Image Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award. There were seven Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and one Academy Award nomination. Bassett started her acting career at Yale University in 1980. After a couple of roles in Boyz n the Hood (1991), Reva Styles was her next film role. Bassett's portrayal as Tina Turner, the singer, in the biopic "What's Love Got to Do With It" (1993) brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She then starred in a variety of acclaimed and successful films, including as Betty Shabazz in both Malcolm X (1992) and Panther (1995) and as Katherine Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992) as Voletta Wallace in Notorious (2009) and as Amanda Waller in Green Lantern (2011), and for the role of Coretta Scott King in Betty & Coretta (2013). The credits on her film resume include Bernandine Harris' Waiting to Exhale (1995) as well as Rachel Constantine's Contact (1997) and Stella Payne's How Stella Got Her Groove back (1998). Janet Williams was also featured in Music of the Heart (1999), Lynne Jacques in Olympus Has Fallen (2013), London Has Fallen (2016) and Queen Ramonda (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2018). Bassett's character in Rosa Parks in The Rosa Parks Story (2012) has earned her nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award. In 2013, Bassett had a recurring role on the FX horror anthology series American Horror Story: Coven and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Miniseries or a Movie. In the fourth season of Freak Show, she was a regular show star as Desiree Dupree. She also received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. She was Ramona Royale on Hotel 5 and was a film star. Bassett returned to her character of Marie Laveau in the episode Apocalypse's season eight. In 2018, Bassett began producing and acting in the Fox first emergency responder drama 9-1-1 playing LAPD police sergeant Athena Grant.
