Colin Kaepernick

 Colin Rand Kaepernick (/'kaep@rnIk/ KAP-@r-nik, born on November 3 1987) is an American civil rights activist as well as a football quarterback who is a free agent. He was a player for six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). In 2016, he knelt during the national anthem before the beginning of NFL games in protest against the brutality of police and racial discrimination in the United States.Kaepernick played for the college team of the Nevada Wolf Pack, where he was named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Offensive Player of the Year two times and became the first player in NCAA Division I history to amass 10,000 passing yards and 4,000 yards of rushing in the course of a career. After graduating, he was selected by the 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. After Smith's concussion, Kaepernick was named the 49ers quarterback of the team in 2012. Kaepernick was the team's quarterback of choice for the rest of the season, leading the team to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994. The 2013 season was his first full season as a full-time starter, Kaepernick helped the 49ers reach the NFC Championship Game. In the following three seasons Kaepernick lost
