Christopher Maurice Brown, born May 5 1989, is an American singer-songwriter, dancer and actor as well as a songwriter. According to Billboard Brown is the most successful R&B singer of his generation. His music has often been referred to as the "King" by his contemporaries. His style of music can be described as polyhedric. His R&B is heavily influenced by other genres, including hip hop and pop music. His songs are mostly based around themes of sex, romance and fast-life, love, regret, and emotional conflict. Brown is a cult favorite and has been often compared to Michael Jackson because of his stage presence. In the year 2004, Brown signed with Jive Records and released his debut album "Run It!". The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) later certified the album triple platinum. In his debut single "Run It!" Brown's first single "Run It!" reached the Billboard Hot 100 and was the first male artist to hit the top of the charts since 1995. The second album, Exclusive (2006), was a huge commercial success, and also spawned "Kiss Kiss" which was his second top-rated Billboard Hot 100 hit. 11. Brown admitted in 2009 to the felony assault of Rihanna, his then girlfriend. Brown dropped Graffiti in 2009 the third album of his career. The album was a failure commercially in the context of his previous albums. Brown's fourth album, F.A.M.E. was released following Graffiti. (2011) that became his first album to reach the top of the Billboard 200. It included three of his commercially successful singles "Yeah 3x" and "Look at Me Now” and "Beautiful People". He was awarded the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. The fifth album of his career, Fortune, released in 2012 also reached the top of the Billboard 200.
