 Charles Wade Barkley, born on 20 February 1963 Charles Wade Barkley, born February 20, 1963, is an American former basketball player who is also a TV analyst with TNT. Barkley was popularly referred to by the nicknames "Sir Charles" as well as 'Chuck' "the Round Mound of Rebound" after his 16-year career with three teams within the National Basketball Association. While he was smaller than the typical power forward but his speed and strength made him one of the best rebounders in the NBA. Barkley was a versatile player who could score, play, and also defend. Barkley was an 11-time NBA All-Star and was a player on the All-NBA Team. He also was awarded the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player award (MVP). Barkley was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as a fifth-round selection during the 1984 NBA draft. Barkley was selected to the 1985 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Barkley was the leader of rebounding between 1986 and 1987, and he was awarded his first NBA rebounding championship. In 1991, he was named NBA All-Star Game MVP.
