Carmelo Anthony

 Carmelo Kyam Anthony, born May 29 1984, is an American professional basketball player. He was last with the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in the year 1985. He has been named an NBA All-Star ten times and was an All-NBA Team member six times. As a basketball player in the NCAA tournament at Syracuse Orange, he won an NCAA championship in 2003 as a freshman and was named the NCAA Tournament's most outstanding player. Anthony was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He is widely considered to be one of the most prolific scorers of NBA history. He was the third overall pick of the Denver Nuggets' 2003 NBA draft. He was a player for Denver and helped lead the Nuggets to the playoffs each season from 2004 to 2010. The team took home two division titles during this time. In 2009, Anthony led the Nuggets to their first Conference Finals appearance since 1985. Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks from Denver in the year 2011, just days before the NBA trade deadline. Anthony scored a career high score of 62 in the game against the Charlotte Bobcats on January 24 2014. It was a Knicks single-game record for scoring and also an Madison Square Garden single day scoring record. 4 Anthony was dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where was a player for one season, before a short stint with the Houston Rockets. He spent two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers prior to joining the Los Angeles Lakers.Anthony has been a part of the Olympics for the US national team four times, winning an Olympic bronze medal with the 2004 team and gold medals with the 2012, 2008, and the 2016 Olympic teams. As of April , 2016 it was reported that he was the US Olympic team's all-time leader in points,[5] rebounds as well as games played. 6 He is currently 9th on the all-time NBA score list.
