Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan, legally Robert Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24 1941. He is an American singer-songwriter. Dylan is widely thought of as one of the best songwriters ever. His career spans over 60 years. His most famous work dates back to the 1960s when songs like "Blowin' In the Wind" (1963), and "The Times are a-Changin' (1964) were popular anthems of the civil rights movement as well as antiwar movements. His lyrics during this period incorporated a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defying pop music conventions and appealing to the burgeoning counterculture.Following his self-titled debut album in 1962, which comprised mainly traditional folk songs, Dylan made his breakthrough as a songwriter with the release of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan the following year. The album contains "Blowinin the Wind" as well as the complex and thematically rich "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna fall". Many of his songs were inspired by folk music from the past. Dylan later released the politically charged The Times They Are a-Changin' and the more reflective and abstract The Other Side of Bob Dylan in 1964. Dylan's use of amplified electrically rock instruments in 1965 as well as 1966 was a source of controversy for folk traditionalists. He released three of the most influential and significant rock albums of the 1960s: Bringing It All Home, Highway 61 Revisited (both 1965) as well as Blonde on Blonde (1966). His single of six minutes "Like A Rolling Stone" (1965) extended the boundaries of commercial and artistic expression in pop music.
