Wolfe Herd was born as Whitney Wolfe in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kelly Wolfe, who was Catholic, and Michael Wolfe, a property developer, who was Jewish Herd was a student at Judge Memorial Catholic High School. When she was in sixth grade The family took vacation in Paris, France.Wolfe Herd attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a major in international studies. She was an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority While in college, and when she was 20 She started a business selling bamboo tote bags to aid regions affected from the BP oil spill. Wolfe Herd partnered with celebrity stylist Patrick Aufdenkamp to launch the non-profit organization called the "Help Us Project". Following the time that Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe photographed the bags, they received international attention. She later launched a second company in collaboration with Aufdenkamp, "Tender Heart" which was a clothing line which raised awareness of human trafficking. Following graduation, Wolfe Herd traveled to Southeast Asia where she worked with orphanages.
