Matthew Trebek

 George Alexander Trebek[3] OC [3] OC 22, 1941 - November 8 2020] was a Canadian-American television host and personality on a game show. He is best known for hosting the syndicated general-knowledge quiz game show Jeopardy! From its return in 1984 until his death in the year 2020, it was on air for 37 seasons. Trebek was host of a variety of other game shows, including Double Dare and High Rollers. He also was the host of Battlestars, Classic Concentration and The Wizard of Odds. He also appeared in his own person, mostly as himself, in a variety of films and TV series.A native of Canada, Trebek became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1998. In recognition of his role on Jeopardy he was awarded the Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Game Show Host Eight times. He died on November 8 of 2020 aged 80 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer of stage IV. Trebek had been contracted to host Jeopardy! until 2022.
