Lindsay-Watson

 Robert Lindsay-Watson was an Olympic and international union rugby player from Scotland. He was born in Melrose on the 4th of October 1886. The Southern Reporter of 23 July 1908 reported that Lindsay-Watson was a member of the team. Robert Lindsay Watson might said to be St. Mary's representative in the Olympic Games in London, as he is one of the team of Scottish Athletes.He participated in the hammer throw competition for men in 1908's Summer Olympics. He joined the 10th Gordon Highlanders, and participated in the First World War. The Edinburgh Evening News reported that many Borders Rugby players were either injured or killed on September 30, 1915LIEUT. R. H. LINDSAY WATSON.Lieut. Robert H. Lindsay Watson of the 10th Gordon Highlanders is the son of T. Lindsay Watson (tweed manufacturer), Hawick. He was wounded in action in Flanders. He is a well-known Rugby footballer.
