Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. (born on September 27, 1982), known professionally as Lil Wayne, is an American musician, rapper, music producer, and songwriter. When he was 12 years old, the artist was signed by Birdman's record label Cash Money Records. He was the youngest member of that label. Wayne was the primary artist for Cash Money Records from that point on. He then left the company in June. He is regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation by XXL and other publications, he has frequently been cited as one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time.In 1995, Wayne was put in an album duo with labelmate B.G. They released a single called True Story in 1995, which was released by B.G. (at that point, Lil Doogie). Wayne, at the time, was referred to as Baby D. 8. Wayne, B.G. quickly joined the southern hip-hop group Hot Boys, with Cash Money label co-owners Juvenile and Turk in 1997. The group launched their debut album Get It How U Live! In October 1999 they launched their debut album, Get It How U Live! The Hot Boys became popular following the release of their album Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and the song "Bling Bling"
